Hi all
I am using the qchem 5.3 version. I trying to do QM/MM calculations but my output file stops running without any error message. I am taking 1 molecule with QM calculation and the rest of the molecules with MM part and MM part is fixed.

Can anyone suggest the failure reason?

What is the calculation doing when it dies? With Q-Chem v. 6.2.2, I have successfully run several optimization steps starting from your input file, without encountering any problems.

That said, I will say that a calculation with this many fixed-atom constraints has very little hope to finish successfully, in my experience. Will take a LOT of optimization steps.

I ran the same input I have shown here. After 1 optimization cycle, it stopped.

Then you should contact Q-Chem support, tell them what version of Q-Chem you are running, and ask if there is a workaround. I have also suggested to you several times that you’d be better off figuring out how to run QM/MM with Q-Chem via an interface with an MD code, e.g., CHARMM.
